Below are some recent happenings from the chess world:
In the current leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix one of the Round 2 games was Ex-World Champion GM Mariya Muzychuk vs. IM Divya Deshmukh. According to Lichess, this game featured 0 Inaccuracies, 0 Mistakes, 0 Blunders, an average 3 Centipawn Loss (per move), and 99% Accuracy. I think this is one of the best games (from computer analysis standpoint) that I’ve seen and it wasn’t a known draw to my knowledge. While these metrics are not perfect it’s still an impressive feat.
At the same Women’s Grand Prix GM Jiner Zhu from China has at 5/7 has a 0.5 point lead over GM Anna Muzychuk and a 1 point lead over 3 other GM’s. Zhu seems like a favorite since in the last two rounds she plays against players in 6th and 9th places.
At the EICC there are 3 leaders with 6/7, 11 players at 5.5/7 and 37 people at 5/7, so the field is wide open.

Nearing the end of the 2025 American Cup (in St. Louis) the final matches started with Nakamura defeating Caruana and Lee defeating Abrahamyan in the first of two classical games. Game 2 is on 3/23 and if tied they will have a 2-game rapid tiebreaker. This is a double knock-out format. Since Chess.com is a sponsor you won’t find this on the lichess site.
Since I mentioned a couple weeks ago the Niemann vs. Dubov blitz match here is a bit more drama (Neimann was in Moscow to also play in the Aeroflot Open which was won by Nepo.).
