Frisco Del Rosario is a two-time Kolty CC champion. He began giving talks before Kolty CC meetings in 2000, and has taught chess since 1989.
He has authored two books — A First Book of Morphy (Trafford, 2004) and Capablanca: A Primer of Checkmate (Mongoose Press, 2007) — and written hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.
A student of the legendary teacher R. Shorman, Frisco has been working on the book Play Like a Shorman Student for several years, and promises to have it in print before he kicks the bucket himself.
Frisco shares the Shorman philosophy that there's no reason for club players to study openings, because club-level opponents are so bad at tactics and pattern recognition.
